WCNY’s 8th annual ‘Treehouse Tales Young Writers and Illustrators Contest’ begins Jan. 2

WCNY will begin accepting entries for its 8th annual Treehouse Tales Young Writers and Illustrators Contest Jan 2. The annual event, open to students in grades 1-4, promotes literacy and creative expression by encouraging children to write and illustrate their own stories.

Students in WCNY’s 19-county viewing area are eligible to enter the contest. The deadline for all entries is March 1. Contest rules and entry forms are available at or by contacting Kristoffer Robert, WCNY’s family literacy coordinator, at or (315) 453-2424.

All entrants will receive a certificate of participation. WCNY’s judging teams will choose a first-, second- and third-place winner from each grade, with prizes awarded at a public award ceremony in April where winners will present their tales.
