‘Fixing Juvie Justice’ to air Aug. 14

Young people are entering the juvenile justice system in surprising numbers and they seem to emerge worse than when they entered.

A group of innovators applies the restorative justice principles of the Maori people of New Zealand to the mean streets of Baltimore.

Can the wisdom of the Maori help slow the explosion of kids in jail? Could it help fix juvie justice?

Fixing Juvie Justice airs Aug. 14 at 2 p.m. on WCNY and repeats Aug. 18 at 8 p.m. on WCNY.
