Live from the kitchen…it’s The Plate Show! The Plate Show is a comedy podcast for kids 6-9 and their families about cultures around the world and the foods that are important to them. Join Spoonie, everyone’s favorite talking spoon, and her BFF sidekick Tongs, as they put on a show from their very own kitchen to learn about – and taste – amazing food from around the world!
In this episode, Spoonie is making her favorite food, pumpkin pie! But to Spoonie’s surprise, she learns pumpkin isn’t always just for dessert, it can be used in savory foods, too – and may taste just as good if not better! Celebrity chef J. Kenji López-Alt joins to share his recipe for kabocha no nimono, a classic Japanese dish, and kid guest, Lila, tells Spoonie about calabaza en tacha and Dia de los Muertos.
