WCNY’s Arbetter moderates panel discussion with former Rockefeller senior staff members

Susan Arbetter, WCNY’s news and public affairs director, will moderate a panel discussion with former Rockefeller senior staff members at the Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government in Albany Oct. 18. The program is from 3 to 5 p.m.

The Rockefeller Institute will join with the New York State Archives Partnership Trust and SUNY Press to celebrate the publication of “Oreos and Dubonnet: Remembering Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller”, a publication of SUNY Press and the Archives Partnership Trust. The book is written by long-time Rockefeller advance man Joseph H. Boyd Jr. and career political reporter, editor and publisher Charles R. Holcomb.

Holcomb will present information about Boyd’s tenure with Rockefeller and what it was like to cover the governor. Following Holcomb’s remarks, Arbetter will moderate a panel discussion with former Rockefeller senior staff members, including John C. Egan, former coordinator of utilities for the Gov. Rockefeller-created Office of General Services; John Hanna Jr., former deputy commissioner and general counsel to the Department of Environmental Conservation and former counsel to the Office of Employee Relations under Gov. Rockefeller; Dr. Alan D. Miller, former commissioner of the Department of Mental Hygiene under Gov. Rockefeller; Joseph E. Persico, who wrote speeches for Rockefeller while he was governor and vice president; and Michael Whiteman, former counsel to Gov. Rockefeller.

Please R.S.V.P. to the Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government at (518) 486-9349 by Oct. 15. Seating is limited. The Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government is located at the State University of New York University at Albany, 411 State St. in Albany.
