Innovate to Educate, Episode 10 – Enterprise America

This edition of Innovate to Educate shines the spotlight on a unique education program housed right here at WCNY’s Robert J Daino Broadcast and Education Center. Enterprise America is an exciting hands-on program for middle-school students, available to public, private, parochial and charter schools. The first of its kind in New York State, the program involves classroom instruction, with teachers using curriculum aligned to state learning standards. Following the completion of classroom study, students embark on the Enterprise America experience, spending a day in WCNY’s Enterprise America City, which they are responsible for operating. In this show, host Jody Manning speaks with four Enterprise America participants from Clary Middle School in Syracuse: teacher Kathryn Mevec, and students Paxton Carter (the Mayor), Alexis Hardee (the Judge), and Mya Bonhardt (the Café Owner).
