WCNY’s ‘Ivory Tower’ panelists host discussion after Red House Arts Center Performance

Panelists from WCNY’s popular weekly public affairs show “The Ivory Tower Half Hour” will host two discussions at the Red House Arts Center Oct. 12 and 13 following the performances of “Assassins.” “Assassins” uses the premise of a murderous carnival game to produce a revue-style portrayal of men and women who attempted to assassinate, or successfully assassinate U.S. presidents. New season of ‘Lidia’s Italy’ set to air Oct.13 on WCNY-TV

The popular PBS cooking show “Lidia’s Italy in America” will return for an all-new season of exploring America’s Italian heritage through food when it premieres at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, on WCNY channel 24.1. WCNY’s ‘Won’t You Help a Neighbor?’ campaign spotlights Child Care Solutions’ Trivia Night

WCNY’s “Won’t You Help a Neighbor?” campaign to support Central New York non-profits and charities this month will focus attention on Child Care Solutions, a child care and resource referral agency that provides services in Onondaga and Cayuga counties. Humane Association of Central New York’s Drop-A-Thon a Success

More than 1,000 people attended the Humane Association of Central New York’s Drop-A-Thon, Silent Auction and Open House Sept. 22. A variety of items were donated at the event – the first in WCNY’s “Won’t You Help a Neighbor?” campaign to help local causes – including laundry detergent, cat litter, canned cat and dog food, toys, dog bones, gently used towels, blankets and comforters. Guests also had the opportunity to bid on more than 200 silent auction items. WCNY features new children’s, how-to programming in the evenings beginning Nov.1

WCNY will provide three additional hours of children’s programming late weekday afternoons and evenings on WCNY channel 24.2 beginning Nov. 1. The lineup ranges from programming for pre-school aged viewers to children in primary grades. At the same time, WCNY will extend popular how-to programming from its Create channel to primetime.
